It was a day to forget for our Subiaco-Floreat - 4s, who went down against Melville - 4s on a day that didn't go our way.
Melville - 4s batted first and reached 8/234 from 45 overs. Kade Grey posted 59 not out for the visitors, a fine fifty. Michael Shoebridge was the pick of the bowlers, taking two for 12 off four overs.
Our chase ended at 117 from 32.4 overs. Max Hickman played a quality hand of 32 off 50 balls. Solid support came from Moran Dedman, who made 24. Credit to Jack Lynn, who claimed a five-wicket haul (five for 18) for our opponents.
Plenty to take out of this one. The results haven't gone our way lately, but the side will keep at it. Plenty to work on, and plenty to like.
